Examples of Retro Refrigerators for a Superb 2012 Kitchen Design

With the on-going proliferation of home DIY improvements programs on the national TV networks, it’s fair to say that people will still be keen on the refurbishment of their homes in 2012.  Some recent programs have concentrated on how you can turn your tired looking kitchen into something with a bit more of a retro feel – and a large aspect of this is choosing the best retro fridge freezer to suit your new style.

There are a number of good retro refrigerators on sale at the moment which are slated to be very popular over the next 12 months.  Here’s a quick look at just three that you might want to choose from.

Smeg FAB28QP1 Italian Retro Fridge

The crème de la crème of retro fridge manufacturers is without doubt the Italian Smeg brand.  They produce some beautiful retro refrigerators that come with classic Italian design and high-end functionality – and of course, a high price to match.   The FAB28QP1 model is in a cream color which suits many retro kitchen styles that take inspiration from the 1960s.  It’s also Energy Star rated unlike a lot of other retro fridge freezers and has an external ice and water dispenser – giving you clean, clear, and great tasting water at the touch of a button.  Don’t expect to pay anything less than at least $1000 US Dollars for this superb model.

Nostalgia Electrics RRF-225 Red Retro Fridge Freezer

Moving down the scale in price and functionality is this model from Nostalgia Electrics.  It’s designed to look and feel like a 1950’s fridge with a stunning red metallic finish.  Not quite as stylish as the Smeg version but it does come with a freezer unit.  Click here for more information on the Nostalgia Retro Fridge and best prices – which should not be any higher than $100.

Koolatron KWC-4 Retro Coca-Cola Fridge

Our final selection comes from Koolatron – who make a wide range of retro refrigerators with the KWC-4 being their smallest offering.  It might be small, but it’s still a great purchase and comes fully decked out with red Coca-Cola branding and wouldn’t look out of place in a 1960’s cafe or movie.  It’s only 12 inches high so will fit snugly as an under-counter refrigerator, with its main purpose in life to serve as a soda can vending fridge.

Want a Modern Refrigerator Instead?

If you decide that the retro kitchen look isn’t for you then you might want to consider something a little bit more sleek and modern.  One of the best brands in this niche is Samsung, so please click here for Samsung refrigerator reviews for more modern kitchen appliances with ratings and price comparison.
