One part of the vinyl window is the sill drainage, which almost all of these types of windows have built in. The reason a sill drainage is built into vinyl windows is that they have a built in channel. In this channel is where the sash of the window will close to give you a seal that is tight. Unfortunately, this does not allow any water a chance to escape. As a result it will run into the channels, which will direct it into the sill and out two little vents found your vinyl windows corners. To keep any insect from living or building nests in the channel there are little screens over the drainage vents.

Another part of vinyl windows is the molded meeting rail seals, which you will find on a window that is double hung. They are at the bottom of the top window and at the top of the bottom window where these two sections come together. This section is important because it is the part that will seal the window, helping to prevent any wind from coming into the home. In vinyl windows they are located on the meeting rail.

The final part of vinyl windows are the options which will offer the consumer a variety of options not found in other windows since the frame is hollow on the vinyl window. One option that a consumer can just is to have aluminum reinforcement inserted all through the frame of the window. Since it is not a material that is very strong this might be a consideration so the glass weight in the frames does not make the window quit working too soon. The reason a vinyl window might fail is that the seals might break under the pressure of the glass.

By using these aluminum supports it will help to lengthen the glass life in the window frame and help to support the frame of the window. In the frame of the window you have the horizontal sill and rails and vertical slashes, all which hold the glass of the window. You can also opt to have the window frame insulated, which would make it longer lasting by strengthening the window.
